Terrain Description: Natural bush terrain set on 40,000 acres with creeks runs, slippery hills, it’s not called InsaneRide for nothing.

Racetrack Format: We have a prologue on day one and full race day the following day, it is a GPS event, point to point.

Categories: 5 categories: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Ladies and Juniors, all juniors must have a senior riders ride with them due to the remote location and terrain

Average Daily Riding Time: Depending on the riders ability and class they can expect to ride anywhere from 3 to 7 hours

Racetrack markings: Minimal bunting and arrows are used as it is a GPS event

GPS Mandatory: Yes, GPS mounts are available from our online store to suits the Garmin Etrex range.

Entry Fee: Seniors $220, Juniors $140

Championship-Race: Yes, InsaneRide forms round 3 of the A.H.E.C

Race History: Insane Ride first started in 2014, it became a part of the Australian Hard Enduro Championship in 2020.

Normal/Expected Attendance: 80 but many more expected now the ride is a part of the Grassroots A.H.E.C

Nearest International Airport: Hobart the international Airport in Tasmania with Launceston being the closet regional airport

Rental Motorcycles: Yes.

Race License: Riders are required to obtain a membership through the Australian Motorcyclist Association

Motorcycle Conditions: Bikes don’t need to be registered, insured or road legal as the event is held on private property.

Typical Weather: Cold and frosty winter mornings, bring your S3 Alaska gloves, perfect for hard enduro.

Sightseeing: Poatina is a stunning township, the entire island of Tasmania is full of natural beauty and history, definitely bring the wife and family.
