Terrain Description: The terrain is mainly: Forests, small rivers, high mountains and rocks.
Racetrack Format: We will use the format from 2019 again. The riders are most satisfied with it. The competition was in 2019 (cancelled in 2020) held from Sunday to Friday inclusive. Ride is 4 days navigation + first day Prologue. For the last two years, the prologue has been held at a short distance to the top of the mountain (about 15 km) on a track with slight difficulty. During navigation, distances between 80 and 120 km are ridden, depending on the difficulty of the track. The race is more like RedBull Romaniacs, but the difficulty of the tracks is little easier.
Categories: 4 categories: Pro, Expert, Standard, Senior +45, Women and ATV. In addition, the Expert and Standard classes can form teams of two competitors and participate in the ranking for team titles.
Average Daily Riding Time: Each rider will be able to drive between 4 and 6 hours, depending on his training. Some who are less training ride for 8 hours. The start is always at 9 o’clock in the morning.
Racetrack markings: The race is mostly ridden on a GPS track. Markers are only placed on difficult-to-navigate areas.
GPS Mandatory: The use of GPS is mandatory! According to the recorded track log, the judges determine whether the competitor has driven exactly on the track.
Entry Fee: The participation fee is 400 euros. Includes breakfast daily during compulsory breaks, a T-shirt at the race and a gala dinner at the hotel’s restaurant on the day off.
Championship-Race: The race from 2019 is outside the championship in Bulgaria, as it’s format is not suitable for the Bulgarian enduro championship.
Race History: The first competition in this format was held in 2006, and in 2019 it was the 12th consecutive edition. The competition is always held in the first week of August. In 2020 it did not take place because of COVID-19. The last, 12th edition was in 2019 from 18 to 23 August, as they change the dates of Redbull Romaniacs and would overlap with those of Six Days Crazy job.
Normal/Expected Attendance: Usually between 120 and 150 competitors take part in the competition.
Nearest Civilisation: The big city where is the hotels for the competitors are located is called Kazanlak (45,000 inhabitants). The starts are 4 km from there around the village of Enina.
Nearest International Airport: The nearest airport is in Sofia. The distance from Sofia to Kazanlak is 260 km. The taxi provided by the organizers costs about 125 euros one way.
Rental Motorcycles: Yes.
Race License: Only a driving license is required to participate in the race. Young people under the age of 18 are not allowed without the presence of their parents.
Motorcycle Conditions: It is not necessary for the riders’ motorcycles to be registered, but if they move away from the track and the liasson, the responsibility is entirely theirs and they fall under the blows of the road traffic law. Registered bikes can move anywhere, so it is recommended.
Typical Weather: The temperature around noon at the foot of the mountain is about 30-32 degrees, and on the ridge is 10 degrees lower. Never in the 12-year history of the race has it rained at that time.
Sightseeing: The sights in the region are: the world-famous UFO – an old temple of communism from the 20th century on top of the mountain. Kazanlak is the “Valley of the Thracian Kings” with many temples and tombs. There is also a large monuments on Shipka Peak and Shipka town. There is an AquaPark nearby.
