If you ever considered racing the RedBull Romaniacs, then I highly recommend you try this one first. Why? It’s a 4 day race (basically the same as Romaniacs, just no Prologue) and the entry fee is much more doable for most people. By entering this race (or basically any hard enduro in Romania) you get a real feel for what it means to race in Romania. Something, a lot of riders underestimate when they sign up for the big RedBull Romaniacs.

I entered this race for the first time in 2019 and got 10th in the Pro class. In 2020 I entered again and on my FM Racing rental bike, I got 4th. I believe that I rode better in 2020 but I also believe that due to Covid-19, a lot of riders from the year before didn’t show up.

Anyways – I wanted to talk briefly about this race and what you can expect.

The Enduro Panorama offers different categories, so you can enter in the one that you see fit. If I’m not mistaken, the organisation allows you to enter online in one category, and then swap to another one until the day before the race. This gives you a lot of flexibility in case of heavy rains the days before the race – or during.

Here’s a video I made from my race experience in 2019:

To me, the terrain around the Enduro Panorama is some of the best I’ve ridden in Romania. It has all the classic ridges, hillclimbs, steep ass downhills, fallen trees and active riverbeds.

The race takes place in the mountains around the beautiful village of Ghelari. There’s not a whole lot of accomodation options in Ghelari, so oftentimes you have to book something a bit further away. The nearest city Hunedoara is bit of drive. Some people camp on site and some stay at the beautiful lake nearby.

You can read more about the event on their race page and here are some of the photos I took from the race area with my drone as well as those I purchased from a professional photographer:
