What can I say about a race this famous – this well exposed and this old in history – that hasn’t been said already. It’s an amazing experience to be part, you get to ride “with” the pro’s and you get to be in the most organised long ass race you’ll ever get to do on an Enduro bike (probably).

Romaniacs is a dream for many and it’s a milestone to even get to the starting line. So was it for me and while I was originally signed up for Gold, I was really happy that I could drop down to Silver. Not because I won the class, but because I simply wasn’t fit enough to get through Gold.

Here’s a little about my experiences during the event:

While a lot of riders stay in the event-designated hotels, I decided to rent an AirBnB a little ways from Ramada. Having my own apartment was really convenient as I could throw my gear everywhere, have full control over my meals and I really enjoyed having heaps of space – and if my memory serves me well, I paid maybe 15-20 euro pr. night.

My bike was out of FM Racings team and having service and support from them, gave me all the time I needed to produce videos quickly after each race day. Something I really enjoyed doing.

I rode a 300cc Husqvarna from FM Racing and the only thing I had to do to it daily, was wash it – everything else, was taken care of by Alfred and his team.

Here’s one of the many videos I made from the race:

I used new rear tires every day and used the same front tire for the first 3 days of the competition and changed it for a new one for the last 2 days. My bike was 100% stock and never had any problems.

I had 2 GPS’s (one on the bike, one in my camelbak for backup).

If you ever want to race Romaniacs or any other race in Romania, I’ll definitely recommend you talk to FM Racing as they have tons of experience in the field of service and support.
