Arsenal Park was the first round of the Romanian National Hard Enduro Championship. I had heard about this race but honestly had no idea what to expect. It turned out to be an easy day1 that took around 20 minutes on fast and flowy tracks and day2 was superhard and day3 was generally fast and easy, with the exception of just one hard section.

Here’s my photos from the event, snapped by the hard working and talented photographer Marius Dinca:

And being me, I like to record my races, so here’s a few of the videos I made from the race:

And here’s what I would recommend myself, if I ever get to do this race again.

I would first and foremost try to do an early bird sign-up and save 30euro. The normal fee is 150 euro but I paid 180euro.

Second – I would make to bring a pressure washer, so I can wash my bike between races. Starting the day on a dirty bike just sucks, especially when you use a bigass protection cover that gathers so much dirt and leaves.

Third – unless I sleep in my van, I would try to book the main pension to save myself some time driving back and forth (I stayed 10km from the race area, and it was an awesome place called Pension Daniella, highly recommended for it’s nice staff, clean rooms and overall good vibes).

Fourth… I would probably do expert/B next time for these 2 simple reasons. 1) I would stress less about not being fit enough and 2) I would stress less about tire choice and the money I need to spend on having the perfect tires each time the gate drops. Those 2 reasons combined would make the ride more relaxed and enjoyable and I would actually get to ride more – and push less.

Generally it was a great race, awesome racetracks, beautiful mountains and as always nice people everywhere you look.
