Avandarocks in Mexico is one of only 2 Hard Enduros in the big country. I helped found the race in 2015 and in 2020 I came back to race it for my first time.

The mountains around Valle de Bravo and Avandaro are absolutely astounding and the terrain is perfect for Hard Enduro.

It was in 2020 a 3 day race with 1 day of Prologue racing and 2 days in the mountains. I personally had some issues with my tailbone, so my Prologue was just pure survival mode whereas the race days in the mountains were full on racing (when we weren’t getting lost, which did happen a whole lot).

Here’s some of the pictures I received from local professional photographers:

The race offers many different categories and racetracks, so just like many of the races in Romania, this race accommodates riders of all levels.

I got third to Mario Roman and local superstar Didier Goirand (both factory Sherco riders) and I was very happy to finish on the podium with these two!
